This is because when we go to bed each night we expect to awake the next morning and in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 we learn that the dead in Christ are only sleeping because they are awaiting the soon coming Christ who will come to resurrect their bodies and rapture them into the sky and provide all the Church Saints with their new eternal bodies.
