Proverbs 1-2

The book of Proverbs was mostly a collection of proverbs written by Solomon to his son Rehoboam. Since God gave Solomon great wisdom, it would be fitting for him to write these proverbs. However there are other contributors in the latter chapters of the book mainly Hezekiah and a few others. If there was theme it would have to be wisdom and how to get it. In these first two chapters, Solomon encourages his son to seek after wisdom as one would seek after treasure as fearing the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Getting this wisdom would keep and protect him.
