1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

There is a lot of debate in regards to the term “The Day of the Lord” but Paul makes one thing very clear about the understanding of this event and that is, that it will be sudden and unexpected just as a thief in the night would be. This teaches us that the immanency of Christ is important and that we as Christians are to be ready at anytime because we don’t know when that time is. This also teaches us that we as Christians can be comforted by this because we will be raptured up into the sky with Christ and bypass the wrath that is to come in the Great Tribulation period.
