Stephen Finishes Well
Acts 7:51-60
Stephen was one of the great men of faith in the early church. Though he was not an apostle, he holds a special place in scripture because he was chosen to minister to the widows who were being cared for in Jerusalem. From his first ministry of caring for widows, the Lord raised him up to be a powerful witness to the point of being brought before the Sanhedrin. In this study, Stephen now brings an indictment against the Jewish religious leaders based on present and past history that angered the men to the point that they spontaneously stoned Stephen until dead making him the first martyr of the Church.
