Hosea 4-6

God's indictment against the Northern Kingdom of Israel continues as He charges the nation regarding her unfaithful ways. He lays the responsibility of this unfaithfulness at the door of the religious leaders by telling them that His people are perishing because of a lack of knowledge. Through the centuries, God sent prophets to warn the people and even heathen nations like Assyria to chastise the people. Yet in spite of the warnings and the ill treatment from their enemies, the people still didn't repent. As a result, God for a time would abandon the nation, but there will come a future day when He will return and call the people back to Him.
