The Joy Over Grace in Jerusalem
Acts 15:12-35
The immature Church, composed of mostly Jewish converts, wrestled with the idea of Gentiles getting saved apart from keeping the Jewish laws resulting in a coming together of apostles and Church leaders in Jerusalem to discern God's will and direction. After hearing the glorious report from Paul and Barnabas and Peter's exhortation, James, the leader and half brother of Jesus, concludes that salvation is only by grace and nothing more. This then leads to sending an entourage of Jerusalem officials to Antioch of Syria to report the conclusion to this Gentile church. Salvation by grace and grace alone.
