What is key in this chapter is the various attitudes you find in the hearts of men towards the Word of God. In Thessalonica Paul was given three Sabbaths to open and prove Jesus was the Messiah. Some listened with hunger and received Jesus and were given eternal life. Many others were not interested in the truth and though they attended weekly, they were not open to the word of God. Others, like those in Berea, were cautious and yet open-minded, searching and allowing the Word of God to be the final arbiter of their conclusions.
