Sin with an Explanation
1 Samuel 13
Often when we do something wrong, we immediately offer up an excuse for our actions. Saul, the first king of Israel was instructed to wait for Samuel before proceeding with any action. However, he became impatient because Samuel did not arrive in the time he had hoped. Plus Saul felt that he needed to do something to look good to the people. When Samuel arrived, Saul immediately offered up an explanation for what he did. As the result of his bad choice, he lost the kingdom for his descendants. From this lesson, we learn that we must wait on God no matter how long the time and do whatever He says.
