David Leaves Town Trusting God
2 Samuel 16-17
With Absalom's coup moving forward, David is forced out of town, but with a correct humble spirit as he looks to the Lord saying to those around him that God can do with him as He sees fit. David's long time counselor and friend, Hushai, purposefully defects to Absalom and offer's his counsel over that of the traitor, Ahithophel, which Abaslom heeds. It was Hushai's deceptive counsel that persuaded Absalom to make a wrong move that eventually was his downfall.
