The Sin of Not Counting on God
2 Samuel 24
This last chapter of 2 Samuel is a look back into a dark time in David's life when he stopped trusting God and put his trust in the military might. As a result, God brought three days of judgment upon the people. This brought David to the point of confession and repentance, but also to the place where he purchased Araunah's threshing floor that became the future site of the Temple that his son, Solomon, would build.
